Residential: Contemporary Extension, Norfolk
Project Brief:
To create a contemporary family kitchen space to contrast with the original medieval thatched cottage.
Solution:
The vision was always a modern take on a simple barn type extension using almost agricultural materials but with clean lines including hidden gutters and no other projections. The corrugated roof was a brave choice but works sympathetically with the cedar cladding placed diagonally to complement the natural rural surroundings. The unbroken inside space has created a very large family kitchen with linked entrance hall to the house.
